The Masonic Hall in Hawarden was the venue for what must surely be a unique event. Friday 30th January 2015 was the date on which Mossley Lodge No. 7985 became 50 years old. Nothing out of the ordinary there but when you consider that it was also the 50th Anniversary of two of its members, making it a triple celebration, then you will understand its significance.
W.Bro. David Vernon Hughes, P.A.G.D.C. and W. Bro. Leslie E. White, P.P.J.G.W. were both to be presented with their Long Service Certificates by W.Bro. Allan Edgar Powell, P.J.G.D., the Deputy Provincial Grand Master. W. Bro. Leslie E. White was, unfortunately, unable to attend on the night due to illness.
The ceremony went ahead with W.Bro. David Vernon Hughes being presented his Long Service Certificate by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, before a packed Lodge including the Provincial Team.
The festivities continued with an excellent Festive Board consisting of Mushroom Soup, Roast Loin of Pork with Seasonal Vegetables and Roast and Boiled Potatoes followed by Apple Pie with cream. It was completed by Cheese & Biscuits with either Tea or Coffee.
All present were rewarded with a souvenir booklet outlining the Lodges’ history over the last 50 years.
Our thanks for writing the report and collating the photographs are gratefully extended to WBro David Fink. The original report can be found here.
